Ray Crawford is the founder and head of Client Marketing Initiatives for Gibraltar Interactive. With 10 years of interactive marketing and infrastructure industry experience and 15 years of programming experience, Ray is the driving force behind much of what we do for our clients.

His expectations are high for both our client's interactive programs and our internal work product. If it carries his name, he expects nothing shy of excellence.

During his 8 years at consumer goods giant Procter & Gamble, Ray tweaked and implemented the infrastructure that roughly 300 of Procter & Gamble's North American sites exist on. The infrastructure he put together had to be fail-safe, highly available, inexpensively and easily scalable and able to meet the very demanding needs of this corporate giant. This small cluster of web servers and application servers, during times of massive e-mail blasts and sweepstakes, met the needs of 100,000+ simultaneous visitors. Many sites that you know and love, including HomeMadeSimple, Pampers.com, PG.Com, Tide.com and Iams.com are in the list of those hosted on this infrastructure.

In addition to putting the infrastructure together thereby ushering in a new, more efficient way for his group to do business, Ray also served as "site manager" for the five sites listed above. He was the personal liaison between the Brand contacts and their agency to make sure all development efforts went smoothly and that the site stayed up despite high traffic initiatives and frequent client/agency updates.

He and his small team of colleges were the interactive glue that brought Procter & Gamble's interactive programs to fruition. They were the ones to make sure things didn't go bump in the night and that "partner" creative agencies did not do anything technically insane.

His work at Procter & Gamble outfitted him with the analytical and problem solving skills to figure out just about any problem. While there, he also learned how to build small and test within reason while paving the way, from an architecture standpoint, to easily accommodate traffic increases on the scale of several orders of magnitude.

Following his time at Procter & Gamble, Ray was brought on at Bridge Worldwide. Bridge Worldwide, now a WPP partner agency, is a premier interactive and brand building agency in Cincinnati, Ohio. At Bridge Worldwide, Ray was the Director of Technology. He and his team of thirteen programmers and two Quality Assurance people were responsible for all aspects of interactive execution and were highly involved in interactive program development.

While there, Ray learned what Client Service really means. Ray lead the development of new Quality Assurance process and User Accessibility standards (which were a modified aggregation of the Section 508, W3C's WCAG, and ADA's standards to meet the needs and cost/benefit analyses of corporate clients) at Bridge Worldwide. In addition, he integrated the Technology Team with concept and interactive program development. These two accomplishments helped Bridge Worldwide to be known as a rock star agency with both killer creative and killer delivery in the eyes of their Fortune 1000 clients. His accomplishments also played a part in the public buy out and seamless integration of Bridge Worldwide by WPP.
